You Still Matter (Even If It Doesn’t Feel Like It)
For leaders, parents, and pastors who quietly carry the weight and wonder if it still counts.
Parenting.
Managing a team.
Delivering at work.
Mentoring one person at a time.
Carrying the burdens for friends and family.
A million little acts of faithfulness that stack into impact.
We don’t always see what God will turn to gold.
You would be shocked who in a daily basis thinks.. Do I even matter? Does anyone see me? If I were gone would anyone notice?
If I’m honest, there are days I wonder if I even matter anymore… if my purpose extends beyond my family, or if I have any tangible ministry left in me.
Sometimes I feel like a veteran football player sitting on the bench… past his prime, still wearing the jersey, waiting for whatever the coach might ask me to do next.
And yet, I know exactly what I’d say to that player if he asked me for advice.
I’d tell them:
You still matter.
Even if you never step on the field again.
Your encouragement matters.
Your wisdom matters.
Your quiet support matters… even if no one seems to notice or listen.
When your playing days are over, your purpose doesn’t end.
It simply shifts.
Because your purpose has never been about what you do…
It’s about who you serve.
Who you live for.
And the One who made you.
Whatever you carry and regardless if you think of it this way…
You are a leader… and leadership is like a bridge.
Most bridges aren’t famous.
They simply carry people from where they are… to where they need to be.
That’s our calling too.
Lay yourself down for others.
Carry them closer to Jesus.
Recognition doesn’t matter.
Faithfulness does.
The “I Still Matter” Framework
A 3-step daily rhythm to silence the lie that says you don’t.
1. Reflect (Morning)
Start your day with one line of gratitude:
“God, thank You for the people I get to carry today.”
Write down one or two names. Pray one sentence over them.
2. Reframe (Lunch / Midday)
When you feel unseen or overlooked, ask:
“Am I seeking recognition or significance?”
Recognition fades. Significance lasts.
3. Refill (Evening)
Close your day by returning what’s not yours to carry.
Whisper this prayer:
“Lord, the results are Yours. I’ll rest in faithfulness.”
Repeat daily. Over time, this rhythm trains your heart to trust that quiet impact is still Kingdom impact.
P.S.
👉 Are you carrying anything you aren’t supposed to?
The thing about bridges is—they’re built for a specific purpose.
Some are footbridges meant for walking.
Some are built for cars.
Some are trussells designed for trains. Each bridge has load limits… and so do leaders.
So make sure what you’re carrying is something God has actually asked you to carry.
Because even bridges break under the wrong weight.
