Love the works of CS Lewis. Appreciate shining a light on the fact that you can be a successful writer in the later stages of life. I like your point that people of all ages have something to offer--from their unique perspectives.
I recently watched a couple videos, one that talked about the increased recklessness of some specific elephant tribes because the older males had been hunted, and the other on how the age (and implied experience) of ant colonies can drastically alter the efficacy with which they respond to threats and obstacles.
It really drove home for me the importance of even just the presence of the older generations having a moderating effect on the younger, as well as the adage “age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance”—obviously not celebrating treachery, but recognizing that with more sunrises comes greater capability to survive to see additional ones.
Yep! And then God immediately tells him to get over it LOL, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.” Jeremiah 1:7 (NIV)
Yeah that’s it!!! So this has been going on since time began and remember Moses said I can’t speak so God says well I’ll send Aaron to speak for you. Seems like God doesn’t want our excuses He just wants us the good the bad and the ugly💃💕🙏
It's interesting too because not all countries have this affliction equally. I wonder what it is specifically in the US especially that makes the ageism at both ends so prevalent.
Thank Nic, yes, interesting for sure. I see this play out globally but you are right I have many friends around the world and this seems less prevalent in some cultures… something to think on for sure… I have some guesses but it deserves some research.

Yes, I have often said if God can use a rock and a mule… He can use me 😂💪
Spot on!
Thank you so much 😊

…
The world needs wine and Welch’s both.
What a powerful imagery. Yes 💪
I’ve never understood why is an age is such a hang up for people. If somebody is good at something, they’re good. Plain and simple.
I think it often comes from comparison, fear, and judgement depending on the situation… but regardless of the root the fruit is the same
Very well written. Thank you for the interesting info and for a new saying: “chronological snobbery”. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you Abbie and YES…. so glad you picked up on this… I almost made Chronological Snobbery part of my subtitle because I loved it so much :)
Wasn’t it Jeremiah the prophet who said he was too young???
